With limited time and budget, M2O needed to create a series of video instruction manuals for a software that encrypts email on Blackberry devices. These videos had to clearly demystify the the software, and clearly illustrate to users how to install and use it.

Creative and Execution

Faced with the limitations of filming software on a Blackberry device, M2O elected to created the video utilizing “screen grab” stills of the software from the device. Meticulously taking stills of each menu on the device, M2O were able to create a video that exactly replicated the users experience, and elegantly provide the essential information to the user.

Results

The video instruction manuals successfully educated the audience and removed a barrier to entry. eCrypt saw a massive 300% spike in sales, and a 50% drop in customer service calls.

Challenge

Sony wanted a Video Press Release that would go beyond traditional (and often ineffective) banner ads and pre-roll. They also had to satisfy a number of different stakeholders including Sony Product Managers, Sony’s PR Department, and the company’s corporate mandate.

Creative and Execution

M2O created, wrote and produced the first Sony Video Press Release that was tailor-made to promote the new Sony VAIO L series technology. The content and the style of the press release video was specifically designed to attract Sony’s target demographic, and to promote the product information in a new and exciting way.

We worked with all stakeholders (product managers, executives, etc.) to ensure the Sony VAIO brand was always handled with care and in a responsible manner, and also created a deployment strategy that would harness the power of social media and attract the largest number of viewers from Sony’s target demographic: tech-savvy, affluent early adopters.

Results

Sony’s video press release was the lynch-pin in a extremely successful online product launch for the L-Series VAIO. Within hours of its release, it was picked up by both Engadget and Gizmodo, the two most popular technology websites in North America. The content of the video press release is now permanently archived on the most popular technology websites and will continue to capture audiences.

Challenge
M2O needed to devise a solution for BCIT’s Venture Program that would allow them to deliver dynamic live content to audiences scattered throughout British Columbia. M2O needed to produce and deploy a cost-effective video streaming solution that allowed real-time viewer interaction. Additionally, M2O needed to ensure that content was engaging, broadcast quality, and could seamlessly incorporate existing PowerPoint or slide presentations.

Strategy
M2O’s approach was to create the new BCIT Virtual Business Hub, a live-streaming solution that effectively captures the dynamic nature of the presenters and allows real-time interaction from the audience. The idea was to configure the M2O studio to allow a 3-camera television style shoot at a fraction of the cost. The speakers would be captured using a unique M2O live-switching technique that ensures a visually engaging video while seamlessly incorporating PowerPoint slides. The videos would also be archived on a central website.

Creative and Execution
M2O created and launched the BCIT Virtual Business Hub to great success. A projection background and a 2-camera live-switch with the presenter’s PowerPoint or slides acting as 3rd camera ensured dynamic video presentations. Audiences were able to email or text questions and have them answered live. Rural communities throughout British Columbia.

Results
Chambers of Commerce throughout British Columbia enjoyed increased enrollment from membership and received extremely positive feedback.

• BCIT’s Virtual Business Hub lectures were extremely well-received or “sold out”
• Interest and enrollment in the Venture Program has increased significantly
• Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, particularly from rural BC communities

“M2O came to our attention when we were looking for a leading edge technology provider that could help us bring together a variety of technologies in new ways. The professionalism and skills of the M2O team have helped our Virtual Business Hub reach geographically dispersed audiences in an effective manner. This team knows their stuff!”

Challenge

With limited time and budget, M2O needed to effectively design, produce and deploy an exciting new video strategy around the NHL playoffs that would engage the online community while supporting the corporate mission statement. Additionally, M2O needed to coordinate production teams and talent at multiple locations across Canada.

Strategy

M2O’s approach was to create a fun high-energy NHL playoff beard video entitled “Playoff Grooming Tips for Men”. The idea was to create a strong positive brand association between Molson Canadian and the NHL by capitalizing on the popularity of the NHL playoff beard tradition. The ultimate goal was to create a video that was funny enough for viewers to want to share it with friends. The video would be deployed throughout the Web and would capitalize on the popularity of social networking sites like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and others.

Creative and Execution

M2O created “Playoff Grooming Tips for Men” a funny, high-energy video that captured the essence of the NHL playoff beard tradition. Shot in black and white and timed to a rousing rendition of Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville,” the video shows a series of funny beard shaving scenarios with old-style humorous titles like: “The Zamboni”, “The Blue Line”, “The Goalie” and many more.

Results

The “Playoff Grooming Tips for Men” video campaign went “viral” and became a phenomenal success, receiving attention and rebroadcast from a number of national media players including the Globe and Mail and the National Post. The video was shared and reposted throughout the Web and was highlighted on sports sites, Blogs, and traditional news sites throughout Canada and the US. The video was also the featured video on the GlobeandMail.com’s Sports Home Page.

* Viewed and shared by over 100,000 people in less than 1 week.
* Value of free editorial and banner coverage is estimated to exceed $150,000
* Positive brand association firmly established between Molson and NHL

“The M2O team always goes the extra steps to ensure our key messages come through powerfully. M2O are video and new media experts and understand the importance of online brand management. They are efficient, cost-effective and always work well with our internal channels to deliver a great product and amazing results. The success of the NHL playoff beard video speaks for itself.”
